School days...

Sorry I haven't been updating lately! Life in the Caudle household has drastically changed and we're all adjusting. Maddie and I have started school! I have officially started nursing school at Kennesaw State University. So far I'm very excited but quite intimidated by my classmates; I have yet to meet anyone that has come into the program with anything less than something like a BS in BioChem. At this point I am very grateful to have gotten into the program at all (they took 75 of 800 applicants) with my BBA and "Community College" science credits. Thank goodness I got As in all of my pre-reqs, I know for sure I wouldn't have gotten in otherwise (and it's only because of my dear husband being very understanding about studying and taking over some mommie stuff that I was able to do that). Whew. So it's a relief to be here finally, but boy do I have some work ahead of me! The worst part is my 5:45 am wake-up call (for those of you who know me well, you know that I SO do not do mornings). This semester I am taking Health Assessment, Fundamentals of Nursing, and Nutrition. I will be starting clinicals in October. Tomorrow is the lottery for picking your hospital so if you read this tonight, please pray for a low number so I can get the hospital closest to me (oh, yeah, you have to be at clinical at 6:30am, if I get the hospital in Cartersville, I don't even want to think about what time I'd have to get up). So onto Maddie...she started school last Fri. at Crabapple Montessori School and loves it (though she is having a great difficulty with nap time, hence the reason why she has gone to bed at 6:30pm two nights this week!) She goes to school Mon. thru Fri. from 9 to 4, though today I got her earlier because I missed her so much, it's pretty hard. I have a hard time justifying doing anything other than studying if I'm not with her. Today I got there and she didn't want to leave! Thanks Mads! =) We went to the park after school so that got us in some bonding playtime. She also sat totally still at home while I read to her in French for 30 min., she loves French so far and is doing well with her animals in French. Oh yeah, I went to France for a week Aug. 4-11 and it was quite good to see my friend Severine and her little boy, 6 month old Pierre. It was a very relaxing time with lots of great weather, company, and food. I got Maddie a ton of French board books as well as other odds and ends. I will post some pictures when I have more time!

Sick little one

Maddie has a temp of 103.1. Please pray for her little body to fight whatever is going on. I'll probably take her to the doc tomorrow. Her little lungs are already stressed so I hope it's not a cold or pneumonia. And for Mike and I to stay well, as Mike's quite stressed at work and I have a 12 or so hour trek to France on Thurs. Good news, I got a 95 on my O chem lab final, should pull out an A in both lecture and lab.
