Comment probs
Hi everyone...I'm currently having some comment issues. Not sure what's up. I'm getting ready to call in the big dogs (ie. my software engineer hubby) to fix the problem. I can't even read my comments from the page. I have to go into my edit entries screen, LOL! We went to see Star Wars tonight...I have to say I think it was the most satisfying of the 3 prequils just due to the fact that it answered some of the more obvious questions. For someone who has only seen each episode once, it's more bang for your buck...can't beat seeing Leigha (sp?) and Luke being born and where the heck Darth Vader came from and why that hideous suit was necessary. (Sorry for the spelling and grammer errors...it's late and organic chem. has already begun to take hold of what brain cells pregnancy and labor left me).

A New Car!
We got a "new to us" car last night. A 1999 Jetta. It's really pretty, silver with black interior. It's our new commuter car and replaced Mike's baby, his '94 Celica. Best part was discovering that even though it's a '99, it has LATCH, which wasn't mandated until 2001! Cool! Oh, and the very best part is that we now have 2 baby ready cars, much easier on Mike (I couldn't drive his Celica b/c I was too short, don't laugh); now he won't be homebound while I'm at class. Yipee. He will be much happier which means I will be much happier which both mean Maddie will be much happier which means everyone will be much happier (it's the toddler circle of life).

Pretty Darn Close!
| You Are 28 Years Old |
|
13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world. 20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. 30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more! 40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax. |

Good Morning!
Mike woke up to this this morning...I was kinda glad it was him because I had the exact pleasure last Monday morning. On Monday I just laughed and tried to remind myself that KatieK went thru the same thing with Josiah, and so I happily threw the child directly in the bath and while she was bathing I threw her entire bed in the wash (sans wood frame). Mike was just as amused but a bit more frantic, he did however let me remain in bed...I had fun listening to him scrub crib rails, he, he!

A Cold Bum

Every night before I go to bed, I go into Maddie's room to put her socks back on...she always takes them off while she plays for the 30 min.- an hour before she goes to sleep...last night I found her like this. Cold feet were the least of her problems. Well at least I know the child is well hydrated, although her poor fuzzy zebra book will never be the same.

Watch Out!
Did you see how I added a category on the side, yeah, I did it all by myself without the help of my software engineer husband. Now if I could only figure out how to have categories show up in the main page (like "About Me," etc.) that I could add entries too...sigh...I'm going to try and just enjoy my current coding high. =) Oh, anyone know why the font and size and color is different under "Currently Reading?" It's not perfect but it's there...

About Me
I am a 27 year old wife, mother, and student. My husband's name is Mike. I liked his long hair until I recently cut it and now he looks like the doof on Dumb and Dumber...we're still deciding on how to fix it. My daughter's name is Madeleine, she's a toddler, but still my baby...she's got her own category. We have a dog that hates me and is in love with my husband...her name is Maggie, we fight over who gets to lay next to Mike while watching The Apprentice. Starting in August my life as I know it changes...I'm starting nursing school, yeah! This summer I will be taking Organic Chemistry...yikes...

A more recent picture of us

The Pink Pig is pretty cool, mostly for the history behind it. Head over to Lenox next x-mas if you get a chance...I imagine the experince could be confused with being on LSD, not that I would know, but little kids like the stimulation of all the pretty lights and moving objects, it's like 3-D Baby Einstein.

Hello, Welcome, and Murphy's Law
Yes, I have begun a blog...not sure how it'll go but I'm going to give it a whirl. Thanks for the support I have already received, LOL! The following was my first official blog entry...I started with "Blogger" because I was in a desperate state and was waiting on my acct. from atlblogs:
"Murphy's Law"
Hi everyone! I thought this might be theraputic so I've created my blog. Today was a particularily rough one and I wanted to blow off some toddler induced steam. My little girl (Madeleine) is 21 months old. She's usually a really great kid, but today was hard. Even though I had a headache, I decided to take her to her favorite park. It's super cool, in Will's Park in Alpharetta. We had a blast. So we get in the car to go home, I give her her milk, and I expect her to fall asleep peacefully. Not so much. She SCREAMS the entire way home, a 30 min. drive. I have no idea why. So is this a willful thing, a I don't like my carseat anymore thing, a I've got sun in my eyes thing, I don't know. I'm wondering what do you do at that point. I can't give her a time out in the car, and I'm not about to pullover in the traffic. I'm not sure what I can expect from her at this age, and how to communicate that mommie has a headache and that I might lose it and get dragged away by child and family services if she doesn't stop. I mean how do you discipline in this instance, I don't want to be too leanient but I don't want to damage the poor kid and cause her to have to create a theraputic blog herself the second she can reach the keyboard. And to boot, usually these sorts of things happen when you're trying to do something especially nice for them, like the time when she was a baby and I made her fresh homemade baby food...she wouldn't even give me the satisfaction of letting the spoon within an inch of her lips. I guess it's Murphy's Law. I HATE Murphy, whoever he is.
Update, another Ode to Murphy:
Proof that Murphy's Law can afflict anyone...Yesterday Mike had the impluse to fix quesidellas (yeah, I know, but I speak French, not Spanish). He really likes them, but he mostly wanted to make them for Maddie because we've recently discovered her love for Mexican food, particularily salsa (mostly because she loves to dip, the only thing she loves more is honey mustard, again the dipping, which, given the choice, she would trade me for). Anyway...so Mike's all excited. He's got the chicken, the cheese, the americanized tortillas, and he really did make quite good quesideias, Maddie, wasn't impressed. She was lovin' the salsa and to say the child double dips is an understatement, but she wasn't a fan of the quesideiallloas. Murphy...gotta love him.
